Wendy first became really interested in art when her school art teacher introduced her to Jim Ede owner of Kettles Yard, probably one of the best little galleries in the country. She spent many an interesting time there and Jim further fuelled her interest in art. She went on to study at Cambridge Art school along with Roger Law and Peter Fluck of Spitting Image fame, and Syd Barret. She then went to the Central School of Arts and Crafts, now Central St. Martins where she studied Textile design.

When she graduated she set up Ibis Designs, a small design and screen printing business designing fabrics for most of the major retailers  ( Liberty’s, Heals, Sanderson) and various commissions for film makers. She also printed short runs of material for a number of specialist design outlets. At this time she designed and screen printed most of the early Pink Floyd artwork including the first posters.

She continued to paint and undertake commissions including designing and making the outfits for the first Virgin Megastore and a number of TV specials. During this time she taught Art part- time at a leading London boy’s school.

She continues to paint, working on a series of oil paintings based on the mudflats of Galloway where she has a small studio by the sea. She also is producing abstract designs in crayon and acrylic and fantasy floral pictures in gouache.
